About shopDownhome.com
At the centre of Downhome Publishing Inc., operator of ShopDownhome.com, is the desire to share with the world the best of everything Newfoundland and Labrador, and indeed Atlantic Canada, has to offer. From the scenery to the arts, from the people to their values, we celebrate what it means to live in and hail from the east coast.
Through ShopDownhome.com, our mail order service and our Shoppe and Gallery outlet on Water Street in St. John's, we carry the largest selection of down east items in the world. Downhome Publishing Inc. is not just a purveyor of these fine goods, we're also a producer. We have published three best-selling volumes of our Household Almanac and Cookbook. Downhome Memories, released in late 2005, has been selling very well. And in 2006, the company is putting out its first puzzle book, Salty's Family Fun Book, and later an encyclopedia of east coast language and folklore. We've also produced several special recordings. So far, Downhome Presents CDs have included Newfoundland Favourites (vols. 1, 2 & 3), Irish Favourites (vols. 1 & 2), Newfoundland Christmas and Newfoundland Instrumental. These and all our other high quality products - an inventory of more than 2,500 items - are also supplied to specialty stores across Canada by Downhome Distribution.
A more recent addition to the Downhome shopping experience is the VIP Club. Not only can you use your membership card for valuable savings in Downhome retail and online shopping, but you can also flash your VIP Club card in other businesses that have signed on as partners to offer discounts to card holders. At the beginning of 2006, the VIP Club had nearly 300 business partners and more than 21,000 members, and those numbers grow every day.
Downhome Publishing Inc. continues to grow, diversify and improve upon itself with an eye trained for any opportunities on the horizon - doing whatever it takes to spread the word that on the east coast, life is better.
